After a long fought battle with my thoughts and ideas for this blog, I finally came to grips that this blog simply fell to shits. I went from my original intent of having a substantial blog full of cynical commentary, pointless insight and random information, to nothing more than yet another Youtube video driven blahblah type blah-guh. So I decided to go back to the roots of good old writing about feelings and thoughts instead of being the guy whose blog looks like every other blog on the God forsaken Internet. Battle of the PPV: Boxing vs. UFC

The talk is over. Tonight marks the night where the world of Boxing squares off against MMA fans worldwide in an all out rating war. Will Mayweather continue to gloat about his PPV sales? Will Dana White's bald head get any bigger? Only time will tell.

The way I see it, if Dana wanted to outshine the Mayweather/Marquez fight, he could've stacked this card a hell of a lot better. I think he knew he'd be taking a loss in viewers, and realized that there would be no need to stack a card that would potentially have fewer subscribers. I think the conventional boxing match will take the ratings, seeing as how a lot of people have yet to open their hearts to mixed martial arts.

Predictions:

Rich Franklin Vs. Vitor Belfort

I really want Franklin to win this fight cause I love this guy.. But I have a feeling it'll be Belfort by TKO in the second. I think Vitor will just be too powerful for Rich. I'm still rooting for you though, Rich!

Jason David Frank, who was once a Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger, is now trying to use his super powers to turn into a mixed martial artist.

The former action star from the hit series "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" has officially made the move to mixed martial arts, and while training with UFC lightweight Melvin Guillard, he hopes to make his real fighting experience as successful as he did on television.

Frank is hoping to fight as soon as possible.
"I was supposed to fight in 2007, but it fell through. In truth, I've wanted to put the work in until I'm ready," Frank said in an interview from the Suckerpunch website. "I know I have a target on my back. Everyone is going to want to beat up the Green Ranger."

And this is the moment where I weep for MMA.
Frank may just turn into a great fighter, though it's doubtful considering that he is 35 and worried about signing a management team before trying to schedule a fight. But this just furthers the notion that MMA is a fad, and can be used as a publicity stunt for someone with a flailing career. Considering that Frank's last acting job was a 2007 direct-to-video film called, "The Junior Defenders," he clearly needs a career boost.
At the same time, the beauty of MMA is that there is no hiding in the cage. When pretenders have tried it out in the past, they've been shown the floor of the cage, very quickly. Right, Jose Canseco?

As a avid MMA fan, I just couldn't help myself.. Let me just put this out there and say, I absolutely HATE THQ games. Sorry, THQ, but with the advancements and capabilities of current technology, you guys are just subpar compared to the other major companies. Despite this predisposition, I downloaded the demo for this game a few weeks ago, and couldn't stop playing since. There are a lot of pros and cons that come with this game -- namely, my concerns regarding the fact that the game fails to have limbs take independent damage as opposed to a cumulative damage system (which is what appears to be going on). Another major concern for me is that it seems as though the characters pretty much have the same skill set/abilities and simply have different skins. I'll be playing this game a lot now that I'm done with the semester, so I'll probably write a more detailed review later down the line. All of the aforementioned were merely my observations based off the downloadable demo.

A few things to note:
- MSRP: $59.99 ( a few online retailers seem to have it for a few bucks less).

Crank 2: High Voltage

Had a chance to kick back with some friends and watch Crank2 last night (shout outs to Kayotik for picking up the movie and dinner tab <3). Pretty good movie. You really can't go wrong with Jason Statham. The only criticism I have about it has to do with the fact that the first movie was so awesome (at least in my opinion), that this one almost seems as though it was just piggybacking off the original. The movie pretty much followed suite with the first Crank, except instead of adrenaline, Chev has to have a constant electric shock. All-in-all, pretty good movie. I'd rate it an 8/10. Good enough to see, but not epic.

The day has come where flamboyancy, skinny jeans, and bad dancing, finally intermingle to create the ultimate 'WTF' dance. All I have to say is -- I knew it. From the moment I saw people getting 'hyphy' and riding the 'short yellow bus', I thought to myself, 'well, this is just the beginning of the end'. Fast forward a little while later, and transition into the fashion world, where flamboyant colors and giant chains perpetuated the rebirth of the 80's baby movement. Let these two concepts marinate, and a few years later, you get "Jerking".

Luckily for me, I've been jerking it since before it was cool, and long before it was a dance. Get on my level.

NikeTalk x Omegel -- Talking with strangers just got that much worse.

Imagine talking with a stranger. Now, imagine the worst possible outcome when talking with a stranger. Apply that to the virtual world, and you have... Omegle!

Take a bad idea for a social networking site, mix it with a scoop of shoefreaks, and what do you get? The ideal hoodtalk chat room. Only on Omegel can you find two strangers having an outlandishly belligerent conversation, as if both parties suffer from an extreme case of profaned Tourette's. And that's right, not the slightest trace as to figuring out who you're talking to (E-thugs nowadays have it so easy). Apparently, a few NT'ers caught wind of this and decided to make their mark on the site, having harassed countless strangers... all of which ended with a simple "NikeTalk".

Vince Shlomi was arrested in Miami Beach last month after cops say he allegedly hired a hooker, whom he took back to his hotel. According to the arrest affidavit, obtained by The Smoking Gun, Shlomi began kissing the hooker when she allegedly "bit his tongue and would not let go."

According to cops, Shlomi then punched the prostitute several times until she released his tongue. Both the prostitute and Shlomi were arrested for felony aggravated battery.

Excuse us for living, but it seems justified to punch a hooker when she bites your tongue. Apparently, prosecutors agreed, because they declined to prosecute either one.

So, the Nike x Beautiful Loser collaborations are by far one of, if not, my favorite Nike release.. Recently, I was lucky enough to shake hands with Robbie, a brand manager over at Nike, who happens to be one of the people responsible for the collabo (or at least responsible for the recent release with the charity dunks). Real chill dude if you ever get a chance to meet him. Yeah, that's about it lol.. Just had to blog this. Really inspirational to be able to meet one of the people who helped put together one of your favorite projects. That's all for now. Catch you on the flipside.

It seems like only yesterday when I was a kid playing with action figures at your house.. making He-Man duke it out with villains from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on your kitchen floor while Nanay prepared a meal. I fondly remember our walks to the mall. Up to the second floor, and straight to KB Toys.. and after? A quick trip to Round Table Pizza where you'd help me play in the arcade after a nice slice of pepperoni pizza. I remember being a brat and playing games with you by hiding in those circular clothing racks at Broadway. You've taught me so much that I honestly don't even know where to start. You meant the world to me. You embody everything I can only wish I could be. You taught me that a real man is not only strong, but affectionate; not only smart, but humorous; not only determined and driven, but ethical. You also showed me that, even though I feel dwarfed in comparison to all that surrounds me, I can make a difference. For all of this, and so much more, I thank you with all of my being. I promise to do my best and not let you down.

As someone who has always thought he would make a great impact on the world, it has become increasingly disparaging to see the areas most important to me crumble. With a feeling of malaise, I have decided to go on sabbatical and do a little soul searching. That being said, this will be the second to the last blog post on my site for the time being.

Over the next few days (quite possibly weeks), I will be composing the last post comprised of my most profound thoughts and life lessons -- my Ninth Symphony, my Starry Night, my Sistine Chapel. The final post will be entitled, "The Last Lecture" -- inspired and stemmed from the tradition college professors partake in just prior to their departure from their respective institutions -- in particular, Randy Pausch's Last Lecture. While I have so much more to say and many other posts unpublished, I will only be making these last two posts public. Thereafter, you will no longer be able to read my thoughts, my ideas, my emotions or feelings, as all posts will then be made private.

To any avid readers of my blog, I apologize for the lack of substance as of late, but my personal life takes precedence over my written one. I wish you all the best and hope you let knowledge guide the way. I would also like to thank those of you who took the time to message me and let me know that I could in fact make a difference. It truly served as inspiration, and I do hope to make a return when I feel recomposed.

A Christmas Miracle -- Welcome Back Eva!!

After a hard-fought battle with Apple over whether or not the untimely ailments of my beloved macbook, Eva, were due to domestic abuse or not, I finally prevailed as the victor of the ever so eloquent "no-I-didn't/yes-you-did" war. After having the door shut in my face and repeatedly being turned away like a Jehovah's Witness on a Saturday afternoon, I finally managed to speak to someone at Apple corp. who had a heart (alongside a brain).

First and foremost, my thoughts on the so-called Apple "Genius".
Oh yes, the adversary. The failed CSI investigators of the computer-world. Had you guys been assigned to assess the wrongdoings in the real-world, Earth would simply implode. People like Superman, the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and the Pope would be wrongfully imprisoned while the likes of Hitler, George W. Bush, Satan, and the Jonas Brothers would be free to carry on their devious ways.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is, Fuck You, Apple Genius. You don't know EVERYTHING there is to know about Macs, and apparently, I can voice my argument a lot better than you can voice your "expert opinion".

That being said, Eva, my beloved Macbook, I welcome you back with open arms. Oh, how I've missed you.

Fight Night: Round Pacquiao

Tonight's the big night! "P"ilipinos around the world will unite in an eery chant of "MaBuhay!" come 6pm, as the most acclaimed Filipino since.. well, me.. makes his way down to the ring. Las Vegas will erupt as the Gold Girl, Oscar Dela Hoya is set to fight the Pacman, Manny Pacquiao. Hopefully, Dela Hoya won't let his age, poor stamina, and dismal boxing skills affect him come the fight. And if the .01% chance of Pacquiao losing actually happens, then I will be the first to point the finger at Freddy Roch and scream mutiny at the top of my lungs. Shortly thereafter, I will plant evidence linking Mr. Roch to insider trading of confidential boxing strategies.

If Pacquiao's track record isn't enough to make you whip out your cool limited edition Filipino AF1's, maybe the fact that the Pacman rocks Teh Hundreds will.

Pray for Eva (the macbook)

Just this past Thursday my baby, Eva, went into critical condition after her face imploded (her monitor had a turn for the worst). So now, I blog, macbooklessly. It's rather difficult to say if she'll pull through, but we're all hopeful for a full recovery.

It was a bittersweet day, Thursday. But, I do have to give a shoutout to some of my favorite NSBers (Kayotik, Jomo, and Chip) for coming down to kick it. And thanks for the Christmas gift BriBri! I'm gonna wrap it and pretend like I don't know what it is, so I can be surprised come Christmas.

California, It's Voting Day! [The Prop 8 Debate]

For those of you who do not know, California recently passed legislation allowing for the marriage of gay and lesbian couples. That piece of legislation is now being contested by supporters of the Prop 8 campaign. Just to clarify, Proposition 8 SUPPORTS the appeal of these rights, thereby stripping gay and lesbian couples of the right to be wed. So to reiterate; vote NO on Prop 8 IF you would like gay and lesbian couples to maintain the right to be married under state law and YES on Prop 8 IF you would like to revoke these rights and return to the "traditional" ideals of marriage.

DontEvenTrips.Blogspot.com is proud to support the NO on Prop 8 campaign. Looking at this proposition objectively, there really is no logical explanation as to why gay and lesbians should not be married. Much of the arguments for the Yes on 8 campaign are fundamentally flawed. They rely on the backing of illogical traditions and outdated religious beliefs.

There were two main arguments made by supporters of the Prop 8 campaign which have no sound backing. Many ads of the Yes on 8 campaign play on loaded language and emotions which give off a false sense of urgency. One of the primary concerns of Yes on 8 supporters is the idea that gay and lesbian marriage will corrupt the minds of children. When you think about it, the argument really holds no merit. The sole KNOWLEDGE of gay rights is surely not enough to cause children to stray off into the 'socially deviant' lifestyle that is homosexuality. I will even go a step further as to say that an open discussion with children about gay rights (including gay marriage) will not be a detriment to society (as it is currently being portrayed by Prop 8 supporters), but rather allow society to progress in terms of human equality and tolerance. Learning about homosexuality will not cause children to become criminals, satanic worshipers, canibals, or any other social deviant. All it will do, is show them that if they are in fact homosexual, they will not be excommunicated by some monolithic rabbi or be burned at the stake by some feudal society. Maybe I'm a bit outdated myself, but from what I remember information and knowledge were good things; which is why children are taught about once radical topics such as racial equality, gender equality, and my all time favorite discussion -- safe sex.

The argument for protecting the right to religion is fundamentally flawed. Ones religious affiliation should NOT affect a person's ability to think logically. Simply because tradition, the Church, or the masses believe something is right, doesn't necessarily mean it is, and America has an extensive history supporting this. Manifest Destiny once proclaimed that it was our God-given right as Americans to take what was ours regardless of who we hurt or how we did it. Religious fundamentalists used to persecute interracial couples simply because it was unacceptable for cultures to clash at the time. In the same light, there is no legitimate reason as to why homosexual couples should be ignored the right to wed. In fact, is it not this same religion which opposes homosexuality based on the "word of God", the same religion which declared religious warfare and persecuted members of other religious factions for centuries on end? Were any of these things right for us to do? No; and in hindsight, we realize that it was terribly wrong. That being said, how is gay marriage any different? It's a natural right for any persons to be treated equally, and this proposition is nothing short of discrimination. Moreover, the church which holds marriage in such great respect also bares many failing relationships with such a high rate of divorce. In this same respect, it was once considered deviant to even consider divorcing the partner you took an oath to stand beside, "through sickness and in health, til death do us part".

Dissecting the social ailes proposed by Prop 8 supporters, the question then becomes: What is so bad about children learning about gay marriage? And, 'So what if they're taught in classrooms'? Should society regress because one social institution has outdated beliefs? This mindset is obsolete. We laugh at how irrational people were in past generations. We heckle societies depicted in history books that were once so ignorant as to believe that women were subordinates to their male counterparts, or that people of color were inferior to the ideal white male.

I really don't see what the arguments being set forth by supporters of Prop 8 are. To me, the intent to create a false sense of danger/urgency show just how hollow their arguments really are. The use of loaded language such as, "It's your children, your money, your future" or "Protect your children" simply appeal to emotions and bare no actual substance. Protect my children from what exactly? Making an informed decision?? Becoming tolerant adults?? I don't see how a loving couple, homosexual or not, could prove to have detrimental effects on a child. The way I see it, sexual orientation alone does not determine a person's perspectives on life; it is comprehensive and includes a variety of factors. If a heterosexual couple could give birth to, and raise a man like Hitler, there is no doubt in my mind that bad parenting cannot be rooted in the sexual orientation of the parents. If Prop 8 passes, then I suppose we should go back and re-examine the Jim Crow laws as well, just in case more radical fundamentalists feel like condemning and bringing more inequality to more innocent people.

Quarantine Worse Than Voting for Palin?

YES, and by a long shot. Quarantine is by-far the absolute WORST movie of the new millennium (and that's saying a lot.. I mean come on, to top Cloverfield, Hostel II, etc. by a long shot would have to take a lot of time, effort, and a talent for cruel and unusual punishment). The sad part is, I had very high hopes for this movie, especially since I was getting into the spirit of the season. That being said, I was even reluctant to write it off as a bad movie, even after all the ridiculous mumbo jumbo in the beginning of the movie. Me and my date, being the thug-lifers that we are, stuck it through like champions. Big mistake. Not only was there a totally collapse of the storyline, the acting actually got progressively worse, and so did the camera angles. Which brings me to my next thought.. What the hell, Sony. Why would you sign your name to this second rate film?? And more importantly, why would you market it as if it was a good movie??? WHO DOES THAT!! Shame on you. Did we, the loyal customers of the entertainment industry, do something SO BAD to upset you, that you would unleash this horror upon us? And another thing.. You, the actors and actresses of this movie.. What in the name of Judaism were you thinking?? There is simply no way that I can bring myself to believe that you "worked hard" on this movie, and it is even harder to swallow the fact that you would have to have had some sort of post-completion screening of this film.. So.. like.. What?? You couldn't have possibly sat through this atrocity and thought to yourselves, "Damn, we nailed it.. Congratulations on a job well done guys. Drinks on the house in celebration for our award-winning performances. We for sure will get an Emmy, if not the Nobel Peace Prize." No. Impossible. You at LEAST had to have whipped out some Tylenol for this gigantic migraine this movie causes.. You know what, I think this movie gave me Hepatitis. Thanks a million, Quarantine.

PS. Jennifer Carpenter, I am singling you out to say, Congrats on being the most effective actress in the movie. You have no idea how close your dismal performance almost pushed me to commit crimes against humanity. And you know what? I don't even think a court in the world would convict me. It's highly probable that I would've been able to plead temporary insanity and simply show a clip of your morbid screaming, crying, and panting, along with the most disgusting facial expression that would make Ron Jeremy impotent.

David Blaine Dead After "Dive of Death" Goes Terribly Wrong

Ok, well not really. But it would’ve been a hell of a lot more impressive than the show he put on Wednesday night. Master of trickery/magician/illusionist David Blaine was given a 2-hour slot on ABC to perform his thrilling “Dive of Death”. Unfortunately, for Blaine and viewers alike, there was no dive, and there was no death (aside from Blaine’s credibility and marketing, that is). The thirty-five year old magician was expected to plummet to the unforgiving pavement from a platform approximately 60-feet (or four stories) high. All of this to be done after being hung upside down for some 60 hours prior to the “big jump”. Regrettably, that is not how things went down. I watched in dismay as my hopes and dreams were shattered. It has been made clear now, that magic DOES NOT EXIST. And for this, I have no one else to thank other than you, Mister Blaine.

My tender eyes and youthful imagination were raped, pillaged, and otherwise massacred as I watched David Blaine not jump.. not leap.. but practically crawl off the platform while being rappelled down on a rope, all the while nonchalantly being coerced to believe that this was in fact “magical” by host John Saunders. I’ve seen people get on escalators that were much more perilous than the supposed ‘dive of death’. A kid riding their bike with no helmet on seems to be more dangerous than this death-defying stunt.

The night was not all bad, though. I just think it’s interesting that I’m always much more amused and entertained by the snippets of Blaine’s street-magic than I am by the main show. On top of the cool street-tricks he performed, the whole ‘catching-a-bullet-in-the-mouth’ thing was pretty cool too. But I’d have to say, in retrospect, the best part of the show by-far is when Blaine agreed to take a punch from Kimbo Slice not once, but twice. That’ll teach him to take up another 2-hour slot with one of his non-magical specials. And no, holding your breath under water for a really long time is not magic – and neither is being hung upside down for damn near 3 days. And with that being said, I bid you adieu.

PS. George Bush may have screwd up the lives of many through various means such as (but not limited to) the war, economic policies, and foreign policies. But no, the dismal magic trick is one detriment you cannot attribute to his term in office.

How many of us have them?

I've always been a rather reclusive person (especially regarding personal issues) until recently, and I appreciate every single person who has taken the time to listen to my bs, comfort me, make me laugh, give me a new perspective on things, or even just smack me straight in the face with reality.

It's been great getting to know a lot of new people, especially a handful of my coworkers (5099!! lol). After the brutal mental suicide I've been going through, it feels SO GOOD to be able to have a refreshingly new (yet familiar) outlook on life.

For some of you, I know it's been months if not years since we last talked, and it means a lot to me that you guys can still be there for me when I need you.

A Greek philosopher once stated, "The unexamined life is not worth living."
The problem with Socrates and his rather misleading proverb is the highly subjective nature of the topic at hand. To some, an "unexamined" life could be not having done every possible thing there is to do on this God forsaken planet (which really isn't much if you think about it). For others, having lived an "examined" life can be simply finding true happiness or bringing happiness to people around you. Socrates also neglects to consider time in his proposition. We are not expected to have lived life to the fullest by age 21. Hell, a lot of people are barely starting to figure out who they are around that age. We are constantly learning about life and all its wonders. Some may take a little longer to break the shell, while others jump the gun.. But in any event, every life is and has been examined. Consequently, no one would have lived an unexamined life, for life is what we know it to be in present day, and to subject others to your definition of a 'life' is bigotry. I, for one, am content with what I have and what I have done with my life, and I am far from having examined life to its fullest potential. That is not to say that I will cease to learn more about myself and life as I continue to grow old. I say this to refute the misleading idea that life must be lived hastily. Why not sit back, relax, and truly enjoy life? I'll admit, living the 'glamorous fast life' is fun, but it only lasts so long.. I've thought a lot about life, love, and many other prospects in great detail these past few weeks. Admittedly, it wasn't until recent years when I finally learned what life was all about.

Life isn't about having the nicest clothes, the fanciest cars, or any other monetary security. Life isn't about having the most friends, getting tons of females, or being declared most popular through some haphazard voting system. Life is about helping others and contributing to society. And more importantly, life is about you and the ones you care about. Once this is realized, nothing and no one else matters. Life is about family and friends and being able to share the most important moments in life with them. One can be surrounded by millions of friends on their birthday and still feel outcast. Reciprocally, one can be surrounded by 5 friends and family members and have the best time in the world. "Life is not the amount of breaths you take, it's the moments that take your breath away."
Life is about struggles, pain, and suffering, and being able to get through the hard times with the help of people you love. As the old saying goes, "Without suffering, there would be no compassion".

Love -- the most volatile feeling in the world. I've always been a hopeless romantic myself (a fairly bitter one, but a hopeless romantic nonetheless), and have wholeheartedly devoted my mind, body, and soul into my relationships. Even so, it took me FOREVER to figure out what love really is (or what it means to me, at least..). Until recent years I had always presumed love to be some sort of magical tale of two people who fall in love uncontested and live happily ever after. But that's not love.. Eventually, the honeymoon period will fade, and true colors will be revealed. It is then when one will realize whether it really is love or simply infatuation. Being able to love someone who for who they are and with all their flaws. Love takes a lot of hard work and it is imperative for a healthy relationship to have gone through hard times for it is these moments which allow for compassion, compromise and growth.

Love is not the completion of a single entity, but rather two individuals who come together and bring out the best of each other. Love is the best feeling in the world, and at times, also the worst. Love is unconditional (so long as mutual respects are still bound). Love is being able to be truthful with your partner, even when it hurts. Love is wanting the best for that person. Love is wanting your significant other to be happy no matter what, with or without you. Love is being able to stand aside and let them grow, all the while being truly happy for them. Love unexplainable and realistically speaking, irrational. But it is these irrational actions which show the love your partner has for you. There are times when people do crazy things when in love. And it is during these times that one must rely on their loved one to take care of them and not do them wrong. Love encompasses a world of its own, and cannot be explained by any one person. Love can be described but never defined. Love is anything and everything you want it to be.

Blah, my world is just upside down right now. And it's funny how the advice I keep getting is to just be around people and try to keep my mind off things, but I just feel like I need to be alone and take some time to work this out by myself and grow. It hurts, I mean, it really hurts.. but I'm glad to know that she's growing and that she will be happy again. After all, I promised to keep her happy, with or without me. I just wish she knew more about herself prior to all this, because what we had was great. No, it was the best. But, sometimes you have to let things go, even when it hurts. A good friend of mine told me, "sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together". I thought about it, and who knows.. maybe this could even be beneficial for me (although I really don't think it will be).

There is so much more I wish I could say.. so many more feelings I wish I could express.. But, I'm weary.. and this is a blog, and not a dissertation. So I leave with yet another quote..

Happy 4th of July ya'll, and birthday wishes go out to my aunt.

Hope everyone is enjoying their time with their loved ones. We as a people take things for granted way too often.. What I would give just to hear those three words come out of her mouth again.. to know that she still truly knew that she loved me and I loved her.. to hold her hand, run my hand through her hair, or simply hold her in my arms again.. I'm probably starting to sound like a poignant manic depressive, so I'll just end this post with a few words of advice.
Have fun, be safe, and whatever you do, make sure you let the ones you love know you, without a doubt, love them wholeheartedly and unconditionally.

Unfortunately, this weekend a member of the sneaker/photography/artistic community passed away. For those of you who knew her or maybe seen her roam around the boards, Sydni Yoshie's life was cut short by a car accident just this past Saturday. It's very disappointing to see someone who had so much life, so much creativity, talent and tons of potential, killed out of sheer negligence. Oddly, I did not know Sydni on a personal level, and yet I felt impacted by the news of her death. Although I did not know Sydni personally, the news of her death really helped me to re-evaluate myself, what I've been doing with my life, and how I've been treating others.. it just helped me put a lot of things in perspective.
With all that aside, my sincerest condolences to the Rounds family.
Rest in paradise, Sydni Yoshie.

A NSB.org Investigation: How Dunkclusive.com Scammed Online Users for Thousands of Dollars

This scam is something that reaches beyond this site and has hit home for alot of people. While they seem to have had business transactions before, some reason they no longer have legitimate practices. The story below is from a user of our site ‘Sahian78′.

If you have any information please contact him or leave a message below. The effort that alot of people in our forums have already provided has far exceeded any detective work that any law enforcement agency could of completed in such a short amount of time.

I have been a victim of Internet fraud.

I am writing to find out what I should be doing next and who I should be contacting. I’ve had some friends in the area research and so forth but I need more help.

I really want a photo of the perp.

An online business committed the fraud. They pretended to be a consignment store. I sent my goods to them (have records), they received them (have records) and kept them without the intention of ever paying me for the goods I sent them.

The basic scam was using referals. As many of us do we list items online that we are looking to sell.

After posting in various forums and go back-and-forth between various parties I received an email referring me to an online consignment store (www.dunkclusive.com). I checked it out. It was new, and there was so positive feedback for the shop. So I thought, that would save me dealing with emails and deals.

So I sent off the shoes and they were received in two days (26 April 08).

The first thing that raised my suspiscions was that the online store was not updating it’s stock with my shoes. Strange. So then I tried contacting them, so when the initial email address (consignment@dunkclusive.com) I was using to contact the store stopped working I began to get concerned. So I contacted them through their website (contact form - see below), I quickly received an email from a new address (consign@duncklusive.com) saying that they weren’t sold but things were looking good.

Over a month passes when I decide to get my shoes back and sell them on my own again.

And this is when it all starts to fall apart.

You can read how the entire thing went down on this thread - where I show the emails, chat logs, private messages, pictures, and more. You can read the development that starts off as linking the online store to a known fraud. Then the perp who starts name calling and so forth ends up being the person behind the online store and about a half-dozen other identities.

This store at the Target strip mall is a vacant premise that used to be Omni Video - 714 828 6644 - until earlier this year.

I called the real estate agent listed on the door - Margaret Watkins - who confirms that no one has used the premis since Omni Video. This is also confirmed by the manager at Omni Video.

From personal research and information from others who have been scammed I have been able to attain the various names, addresses and phone numbers of some of the people involved.

The one eye witness I have, said that the perp looked like Greg Foster - the former back-up centre to Shaq when he was at the Lakers!

I have filed a report with The Internet Crime Complaint Centre ( http://www.ic3.gov/ ).

I have emailed everything I have to the Orange County Police Department.

BUT we all know that the authorities are really not going to be interested in a kid who scams expensive sneakers off others. Especially when each scam is around the $1200 mark. But when you add the scams this guy has done we are looking at $25,000+ in shoes. Remember that many of these limited editions shoes can go for $2000 EACH on the market, so that’s only about two dozen shoes.

I haven't made a post in a while, and while I'd love to share my thoughts more, I'm strapped for time considering finals are slowly approaching and the papers, final projects and exams are starting to stack up. On a lighter note, I will address one of the funniest movies I've seen in my past nine lives.

Funniest move E V E R-
If you thought SuperBad, Knocked Up, Juno, etc. was hillarious, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is slap your neighboring movie attendee in the face while spitting your large $10 soda in their face funny. If you don't think this movie is hillarious, well then just shut up and take this post in stride cause I don't care what you have to say! And if you liked it, kudos. Let's kick it.

All joking aside, I was actually surprised at how good the movie turned out to be. I was fairly pessimistic due to all the advertising and hype going on, but it not only lived up to my expectations, it far surpassed it. If you have your doubts about this move like I once did, give it a chance, it's an awesome movie.

Read up on this article that takes an interesting stance on the whole Reverend Jeremiah Wright controversy. It conveys some of the problems with nationalism and people being overly "politically correct". If you ask me, all of this was rather obvious (and most of it truthful), but you be the judge. I'm just glad someone else thought there was something wrong with Obama not only denying but condemning the actions of his long time pastor.. That damned Judas.

The recent quasi-controversy over the comments made by the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright, retired pastor of the United Church of Christ, to which Sen. Barack Obama (D.IL), both belongs and attends, has shown us how limited, and how narrow, is this new politics peddled by the freshman Senator from Chicago.

Although first popularized via the web, the Reverend's comments caused Sen. Obama to say he was "appalled" by them, and he has repudiated such remarks as "offensive."

Just what were these comments? As far as I've heard, they were that Sen. Hilary Clinton (D.NY) has had a political advantage because she's white; that she was raised in a family of means (especially when contrasted with Obama's upbringing); and she was never called a nigger.

Sounds objectively true to me.

Rev. Wright's other remarks were that the country was built on racism, is run by rich white people, and that the events of 9/11 was a direct reaction to US foreign policy.

Again -- true enough.

And while we can see how such truths might cause discomfort to American nationalists, can we not also agree that they are truths? Consider, would Sen. Clinton be where she is if she were born in a Black female body? Or if she were born to a single mother in the projects? As for the nation, it may be too simplistic to say it was built on racism, but was surely built on racial slavery, from which its wealth was built. And who runs America, if not the super rich white elites? Who doesn't know that politicians are puppets of corporate and inherited wealth?

And while Blacks of wealth and means certainly are able to exercise unprecedented influence, we would be insane to believe that they 'run' this country. Oprah, Bob Johnson and Bill Cosby are indeed wealthy; but they have influence, not power. The limits of Cosby's power was shown when he tried to purchase the TV network, NBC, years ago. His offer received a corporate smirk. And Oprah's wealth, while remarkable, pales in comparison to the holdings of men like Bill Gates, or Warren Buffet.

Would George W. Bush be president today if he were named Jorje Guillermo Arbusto, and Mexican-American? (Not unless Jorje, Sr. was a multimillionaire!)

In his ambition to become America's first Black president, Obama is in a race to prove how Black he isn't; even to denouncing a man he has considered his mentor.

As one who has experienced the Black church from the inside, politics and social commentary are rarely far from the pulpit. The Rev. Dr. Martin L. King spoke of politics, war, racism, economics, and social justice all across America. His fair-weather friends betrayed him, and the press condemned his remarks as "inappropriate", "unpatriotic", and "controversial."

Rev. Dr. King said the US was "the greatest purveyor of violence" on earth, and that the Vietnam War was illegitimate and unjust. Would Sen. Obama be denouncing these words, as the white press, and many civil rights figures did, in 1967? Are they "inflammatory?"

Only to politics based on white, corporate comfort uber alles (above all)" only to a politics that ignores Black pain, and distorts Black history; only to a politics pitched more to the status quo, than to real change.

Politics is ultimately about more than winning elections; it's about principles; it's about being true to one's self, and honoring one's ancestors; it's about speaking truth to power.

It can't just be about change, because every change ain't for the better!

So, I finally decided to get a pair of customs done, and I think they came out great. These will probably be one of my last 'pick-ups' for a while, and to be honest, I'm very content with them being one of my last pairs as a "collector".

Concept: I decided to put together 3 of my favorite things in the world. Myself, one of my favorite shoes (Beautiful Losers), and the art of grafitti artist, Banksy. The main concept of the shoe was to depict a part of my own personality and plaster it over one of my favorite shoes (the Beauitful Loser blazers). I then decided to incorporate the artwork of Banksy, as well as throw in a few of my favorite quotes. With the recommendation of my friend Kayotik, I finally found a customizer willing to do the job for a reasonable price, along with a high quality of work. Aside from people winning me over with good character, I normally fail to esteem American Idol contestants in terms of their overall quality of talent. Standing corrected, in the current season of American Idol, I recall watching a car-dwelling high school dropout from Tennessee who struck me as unequivocally unique and inherently gifted. Recently, eighteen year old, Josiah Lemming, was cut from American Idol, just shy of making it to the top 24 contestants. Usually, people fire words of spite into the cameras after being cut, much of which revolves around the phrases: “You don’t know what you’re missing”, “You don’t know what talent is!”, “I’m too good for American Idol anyway” and “You’ll see me again”. Interestingly, I actually believe Josiah may have all those phrases down. American Idol actually DID seem as if it would have been a great setback for the kid who has oh so much potential in becoming a huge influential figure in music, had he actually became thee American Idol. Contrary to American Idol standards, which bases its ideologies of talent solely on the vocal aspect of things, this kid was the real deal. Josiah can use instruments the way writers use adjectives and his lyrics can be read like an enchanting book or an intricate poem, and, to top it off his vocal finesse isn’t bad at all. Now that he has gained a little exposure thanks to A.I., I’m nothing less than positive that we will see more of Josiah. Stay true to yourself and continue expressing yourself and your ideas through your music, and I have no doubt in my mind you will be adored for your music. Kudos.

Feb. 16 EliteXC presented: "Certified" -- which turned out to be just about as certified as a used car sales lot. Renowned street fighter, Tank Abbott, and internet sensation, Kimbo Slice duked it out to determine who the true kingpin of street fighting was. Unfortunately (for us), Tank is obviously not in his prime anymore and has gotten a tad bit out of shape, to say the least (not to mention he has lost almost all of his past 9-10 fights?). But, you couldn't help but expect a bit more from the man who has kicked ass day in day out for the past few years.. and on top of that.. I mean.. just look at the badass goatee.

As for all you Kimbo enthusiasts, there is no doubt in my mind he can and will get KO'd soon enough. What's good with a little Kimbo Slice vs. Brock Lesnar action?

If you haven't seen (or even heard of) Hard Candy, staring Patrick Wilson and Ellen Page (Juno), definately go check it out. A simply terrific indy film that touches and reflects greatly on some of the problematic issues regarding the internet and certain aspects of social networking sites and/or online chats. It's currently on sale at Best Buy for $6.99, although from first hand experience, I would recommend simply getting the item shipped to your house (you might be able to get free standard shipping if they are still doing the promotion or if the item ends up not being at your local store for pick up (which, from my experience is more likely than not).
Anyway, check it out. Great movie.

UFC 81: Breaking Point -- The date was set and with anticipations high last weekend, former WWE superstar Brock Lesnar set foot into the Octagon to face Jiu-Jitsu specialist, Frank Mir in his debut fight. Long story short, the fight was the UFC version of the Superbowl. One team/person dominates for 90% of the game, but can't finish the job. Better luck next time Brock.

After suffering a dissapointing upset at SuperBowl XLII (17-14) Patriots coach, Bill Belichick, seemingly tucked his tail between his legs and wimpered away to the locker room shortly after making his way onto the field for an early congratulatory handshake with Giants coach, Tom Coughlin. "It's not that I was being unsportmanlike per se, I just forgot that I had left my spoon in the microwave", exclaimed Belichick. Unknown sources tell us Belichick's spoon imploded causing the microwave to burst into flames, much like his last shred of dignity.

American Idol Makes a Comeback

Since its debut in 2002, American Idol has long been bringing to its viewers the best of the best as well as the best of the worst in terms of vocal talent. American Idol became a rather lackluster show after viewing a few seasons which resulted in a repetitive dryspell in their search for stardom. Recently, Renaldo Lapuz, a 2008 contestant, captured our attention and our hearts. Lapuz brought with him not only a very interesting (to say the least) Goodfella-esque attire, but a sense of friendliness and well being that I have not seen since good ol' William Hung. Along with his flamboyance and charisma, Lapuz brought to the table what seems to very well be byfar one of the most inspiring, catchy hooks that I have heard in years. I couldn't help but walk around feeling great while mumbling the lyrics. Seriously though, I honestly wouldn't be surprised to hear his little jingle come up in a commerical or a maybe a trailer or even the end of a movie when the main character triumphs over adversity.

PS. I can't wait to hear a wide spectrum of celebs do a cover of Renaldo's song. Personally, I'd like to hear it be covered by voice-over artist T-Pain, the newly re-invented rapper-singer Snoop Dogg, and last but definately not least Solja Boy. Forget Platinum, if any of these collabos/covers released, the single alone would be hitting Rubidium.

Bored

So, school was kind of really stupid. -____-" Went in for 2 classes, with a 6 hr gap inbetween due to my other classes being cancelled. Brought my camera along to help nullify the boredom, only to fall asleep for about 3-4 hrs so in retrospect, I was just carrying extra weight around me neck for a few snapshots here and there..

Being fairly tired & the lazy bum that I am, I will just quote what I previously posted on a thread over at NSB.

Hope everyone makes it back safely.. and in the end, material possessions are nothing compared to ones well being. I seen a few people on the news just distraught that their homes were gone.. but if you really think about it, it could have ended up a lot worse. Not to downplay the seriousness of losing your home (especially in the areas affected, which seem to be rather pricey homes), but between losing a loved one and losing a house.. I'd lose my house over a family member any day of the week. Money can always be replenished, but no matter how many sci-fi movies you watch, people can't be brought back from the dead.

PS. And please, if you know one of the idiots who are trying to save their homes from what seems to be hellfire & brimstone with their Home Depot garden hose, please punch them in the jaw and drag them to safety.
